I am in a long distance relationship with a really great guy. We had talked about living together and him moving to be in the same city as me within the next six months. But a month ago his father died and now he feels he cannot leave his home town and needs to be by his mother and other family members to support them. Also, he hasn't had the energy to put into our relationship lately, such as calling me as often as he used to. I am feeling neglected and hopeless. He told me he loves me, but he doesnt think he can move here as planned at least for another year. We are thinking of taking a break now, which I am not even sure what that means. I just want to support him through this loss, but I think he feels overwhelmed with his own grief and can't put the time into the relationship. Has anyone dealt with a loss like this while in a long distance relationship? Any advice?
