Hi all...My love and I met over 20 years ago in the UK, he was in the US military based in Eng, and I was travelling around (I'm Aussie,) any way we met and had a brief beautiful time together. I continued on my journey and he stayed behind,We both knew there was something special happening but were young and just starting to experience life...We lost contact when I returned to Aust and he was stationed elsewhere....We both continued on with our lives marrying and divorcing our exes..I had a son with my ex..he never had kids....Anyway we recently reconnected via the internet and have re-ignited the flames that we lit all those years ago.....trouble is he is in the US and I am in Aust...We talk all the time online and by phone and have even managed to get together for one wonderful week...We know that we want to be together but there are some hurdles to get over...My ex wont let me take our son out of the country (which is fair enough)and my love has a job that he loves and a life that I wouldnt want to make him sacrifice...We realise that we both have to sacrifice some aspect of our lives to be together...and will.... The hardest part is knowing how much time we have lost and are still losing being so far apart...I cry most days because I miss him so much...and yet I'm so happy that he is back in my life...I keep reassuring myself that things will work out for us but sometimes thats not enough....I guess the key is to only look forward and relish the fact that we are one in our hearts if not body...Any way I just wanted to share with you all...any tips on surving the loneliness would be appreciated too ...thanks for listening...x
