Long Distance Relationship
Story of the Week

Last summer the army had sent me to alabama to attend a school there for 6 weeks. i had no intentions to meet anyone, knowing that i would only be there for a little bit, plus i had had my share of horrible realtionships, where i had been lied and cheated on. after 2 weeks of school and spendind time finding happiness within me, a classmate asked me what i would be doing that evening and offered to come over with a friend to just hang out, watch a few movies, have a few drinks and some good converstation. needless to say that night right after my classmate arrived at my hotelroom, his workout buddy nocked on the door, i was amazed to see this handsome young man whom i had seen walking thru the hanger a few times between classes. he firmly shook my hand and introduced himself as "rob". now i have heard that i can at times be intimatating and come off too independant and strong (just a wall to protect myself i suppose).

I have never had anyone just flat out make an open move on me like he did that night. we had taken a shot together eventhough i tried to refure since i had nothing to chase it with. after some convincing i took the shot, shook my head and asked if there wasnt anything i could chase the tase of tequilla down with, hoping there was some cola or even beer left. with the security and strenth of a man who knew what he wanted and the tender sweet side of a man who was willing to love rob leaned in to me, grabbed my face with both hands and planted the sweetest most passioante kiss on my lips i have ever experienced. "hows that for a chaser" he said leaving me brethless.

Well needless to say i fell in love with this man, eventhough wha was 3 years younger than me, and lived 2 states away from mine, i gave him my heart. we spent over a month together last summer. since im active duty army in texas and he is national guard in mississippi we have stayed in contact and been together growing, loving and learing more and more from each other everyday. we'd see go each each other about once a month and spend as much time together as possible. yes there have been plenty of rough times, being from 2 different worlds, me born and raised in germany as a german-cuban and him in a little down in MS we have learned alot form one another. january this year he did brake up with me, cause the fact of not being able to see me, and and all these other things he thought he wanted out of life where overwhelming him. is was not till valentines day, when i was going to go on a date with someone else till he realized that i was going to have to move on with my life despite how much i did love him.

Valentines day 06 he flew in form MS to take me to dinner, and tell me how much he loved me and that he finally knew what he had to do for us to be together right now, regardless of any hopes dreams and wishes he might have had before, the most important thing was me. to hear him tell me these things where like a dream come true, something you would only see on tv. but it was real.

Today he is getting a u-haul trailer hooked up to his jeep, pack up his things and tomorrow he will be moving out here with me. we dont know yet how we will go about finding him another job, or finishing college, all we know and need to know is that we love one another, like we've never loved anyone before, nothing is more important to me than him, and vic versa. i love this man with all my heart, i would wlak the globe to find him, id fight a war alone for his love and i would and will defend him to death. he is my soulmate, my other half the man i adore, cherish and respect.

If god brings you to it, he will bring you thru it.......... with that knowledge and the unconditional love we have for one another we will suceed. with prayer and wisdom we will push one another to be so much better and successfull than ever before.

To everyone out there who is having doubts in their longdistance relationships, if you love him/her do not EVER EVER give up. true love will pull thru. its not 50%-50%, its 100% and 100%. it all takes compromise and giving up one self for one another. with prayer and faith everything will work out.

In the end everything will be ok, if its not ok....its not the end.
