Long Distance Relationship
Wow...How do I start. I've just finished reading all 3 books. Loving your LDR, Still loving your LDR and Loving your LDR for women. All 3 were heaven sent and answered all the questions to all these sometimes puzzling feelings and experiences I've been having since the beginning of my LDR.
It's also comforting reading stories of others going through the same thing. I've been in a VERY LDR for a little over a year now with the most wonderful man, Michael, from New Zealand. Talk about having a LDR with someone who is literally at the other end of the earth....it is hard, but well worth it. We met in October 2004 while Michael was here in the USA on a 7 month temporary work visa which was about to end. We spent as much time together as his work allowed when passing through town. He flew me to NYC to spend what last few days with him before flying to England to spend time with his two older sons there. He proposed to me in NYC with only knowing each other for a little over a month, and of course, I said yes.
We both cried uncontrollably at the airport before our flights departed in separate ways. This is when the LDR really started. I truly believe that LDR's are not for the weak. I just wish I would have found your books and read them 12 months ago. The first 6 months without him was pure torture. He flew me to New Zealand in July 2005 to meet his family and we spent the most glorious month together there. But again, I had to return home to reality, work, kids, etc. It doesn't get easier with each departure, but I do get stronger.
Your books helped me put things into a different perspective and see things in a different light except through the teary eyes and a lonely heart that I was. I now live life to the fullest while we are apart and work on goals that I want to accomplish for myself and greatly look forward to each phone call, which my phone bill expenses show many, and each visit that we plan.
I also now look forward to the future and can't wait to be with the love of my life, for I know this LDR is only temporary until both mine and Michael's lives can become one. Thanks so much for your books and I hope you publish more.
Michele from Idaho, USA
