Long Distance Relationship
Story of the Week
Here is my love story. My boyfriend and I have been together in a serious relationship ever since I was a senior in highschool. I attended a university right after highschool and he stayed near his family and went to a community college. I will never forget the first day I left for college.
I was leaving my best friend behind and I didn't know how I would go on without him being around so much. Throughout the years I've gotten busier and busier at school just so I don't spend hours thinking of how much I miss him, we've probably spent more time on the phone then in person. To sum up everything, my parents thought that I was nutts to stay with Marcus for this long, it will be four years in January.
My mother told me to have fun in college and as she always said "long distances relationships can never work." Well, I'm going to prove her and all of my college friends their wrong. No, it hasn't been the easiest four years being away from eachother but I know that I can honestly say that I love this man for the good and the bad. I hate it when people would try and tell me it would get easier as the time went by--that isn't true.
The more time that goes by the more I miss him. But it has brought us closer together and the more time that goes by the more I long to be with him. I hate going for visits and then knowing that I'll be gone for another month again. But I love the drive down to see him, I still get butterflies in my stomach when I see him, like the first time we met. I know that it seems like you will never get to with your love one but when the time finally comes when you can be together permanently, it will be well worth the wait.
We plan on getting engaged soon and I can't wait because I know that even distance can't keep us apart. Thanks!!
